Here's How to Make It Easy for Customers to Book Your Venue - Add a Google Virtual Tour

I’m the maid of honor in my college roommate’s wedding this fall and like many friendships nowadays, we no longer live in the same city. I’ve actually only been to where she currently lives a few times, including this past weekend for her bridal shower.

Now I’m looking at venues for a few pre-wedding gatherings the MOH typically hosts. And as I’m researching and going to websites, I find it difficult to get an accurate feel for those places. Sure, photos on websites and crowd-sourced images can show me a little bit of the atmosphere, but I’d really like to be able to look around a bit more—maybe see what’s on the other side of a pillar or see the whole space in one shot. But without going there and seeing the places I’m considering in person, it can be very difficult to make a good judgment call based on past visitors’ poorly lit cell phone photos.

Make It Easy for Customers to Book Your Venue—Add a Google Tour

But if the places I’m looking at would have a Google virtual tour, it’d be a whole different story. A Google tour would let me explore a venue literally from top to bottom with 360° views from each point on the tour and move throughout the venue. The professional-quality photos also included in the tour would give me a chance to see the location without the usual crowd-filled images websites use to—rightly—connote popularity, movement, and energy.

Just like the “see inside” feature for a book on Amazon, a Google tour gives potential visitors and customers a preview of what a real-life experience would be like. Not only can I get a feel for the atmosphere, but I can see how the venue would fit my vision for the party or I can estimate how crowded it might get or how to arrange seating. All types of meeting spaces can benefit from giving people this preview.

Obviously a Google tour can’t replace an in-person visit. But it can be an essential tool for showing people across the country—and even around the world—what your restaurant, cafe, co-working space, retail, bar, studio space, or any other kind of meeting place is like. People, like myself, can use a Google tour to plan trips and other events to the best of their ability. And the more available your venue and event space is to making it easier for people to decide your space is the space they want, the more likely they are to book.
