The week of September 8th, Sparkfactor went to Boston to attend the INBOUND Conference, put on by HubSpot. The 4-day conference covered everything inbound marketing-related, from training in HubSpot’s COS and content marketing to sales and email marketing automation. We also heard great keynote speeches from people like Brene Brown, Aziz Ansari, and Daniel Pink.
Here’s a small sampling of what we learned at INBOUND 2015.
Content Isn’t Just for Content Marketers
It is really easy to think that content marketers are off in an isolated part of the company, churning out content to get consumers to the website, and then that’s when the real work begins. But that doesn’t have to be true. Content can be created to serve almost any department in the company: sales, product development, customer service. The content team shouldn’t be unaware of what other departments are doing—they should be aware of everything happening in the company to help create educational and valuable content that can help close, explain products, and provide support that is not only valuable to prospects, but internally as well.
Workflows Make Life So Much Easier
We attended a session solely focused on workflow and marketing automation. And while workflows may seem buy neurontin online impersonal, they are actually effective ways of nurturing leads by providing them with content they would enjoy and find valuable. Once a prospect engages by clicking on an email or downloading another white paper, personalization can really come into play by talking to them as the person they are instead of the persona they fit into.
Market Unto Others …
In their keynote, Brian and Dharmesh, founders of HubSpot, adapted the Golden Rule: Market unto others as you would have them market unto you. They talked about how inbound marketing is for everyone everywhere. It’s a respectful, valuable way to share your product with potential customers. How often do you sit back and think, “How would I respond to this campaign?”
We enjoyed going to sessions and meeting people as passionate about inbound marketing as we are. And our goal is to bring home what we’ve learned to help you achieve more. Whether you’re just hearing about inbound for the first time or you’re already running inbound campaigns, we’re here to bring you the best inbound has to offer. See what we can do together.
